Watershed:

During the final week of September 2014, biology students from U-32 high school engaged in a river monitoring unit with the help and guidance of the UVM Watershed Alliance.  On November 6th, students presented a semester-long aquarium design project at Vermont Fest 2014, a three-day long Education Technology Conference held in Killington, Vermont.  Knowledge gained through stream monitoring undoubtedly advanced the students understanding of how particular chemical parameters influence the state of their aquariums and how certain organisms could help filter and keep their tanks clean.  During this event, students shared their river monitoring experience with the general public as well as the ways this work helped support them in their aquarium monitoring in the classroom.
